The texturing and shading artist is in charge of creating textures and shading for character models, scenery, vehicles, and 3D accessories. They are adept at skinning techniques for geometric models such as applying textures and patterns or shiny, transparent, or relief surfaces. They must be well versed in the use of the shading/texturing functions of rendering engines in programs such as Photoshop, 3ds Max, Maya, Mental Ray, or V-Ray.
