VISIT YOUR FUTURE: The new studio visit project

Montreal, April 19, 2024 – SYNTHÈSE launches the first edition of its brand new project called “VISITE TON AVENIR!” (VISIT YOUR FUTURE!). Over two days, some 60 digital creation students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of Montreal studios at the heart of the video game, digital experiences, visual effects, and animation sectors.

A concrete and stimulating exploration within the digital creation industry

“SYNTHÈSE wants to offer Quebec students enrolled in a graduate program in digital creation a unique opportunity to explore the professional realities that await them through studio discovery tours,” explains Brigitte Monneau, Executive Director of SYNTHÈSE.

Thanks to close collaboration with 12 studios, this initiative provides participants with insight into various key aspects of their future and their professional vocation: the inner workings and technical aspects of the profession, career opportunities and developments, the type of portfolio sought, internship and training opportunities, the diversity of studios located in Quebec, and much more!

The “VISITE TON AVENIR!” project embodies SYNTHÈSE's commitment to supporting and inspiring the next generation of digital creation talent. “It's a real boost for these young people who are about to enter the job market and want to get a feel for the industry to launch their careers. They will be able to meet professionals in the sector directly and gain a concrete vision of their future profession,” adds Elise Voyer, project manager at SYNTHÈSE.

An experience rich in discoveries, divided into four itineraries

Spanning two days, the “VISITE TON AVENIR!” project offered an exploration through four distinct itineraries on April 16 and 18, 2024, with two itineraries per day. Each route welcomed a dozen enthusiastic students, allowing them to visit three studios in Montreal's iconic neighborhoods: downtown, Mile End, and Mile-Ex.

A total of 60 students from four universities (École NAD-UQAC, UQAT, Concordia University, and Laval University) and three CEGEPs and colleges (Collège Bois-de-Boulogne, Collège de Maisonneuve, and Cégep du Vieux-Montréal) responded enthusiastically to the call.

We would like to thank the 12 digital creation studios that opened their doors and allowed these young talents to immerse themselves in their technical and artistic world.

The next edition is expected in fall 2024.

Stay tuned: the second edition of the “VISITE TON AVENIR!” project is already underway. “Given the resounding success of the first edition, both among students and studios, ”VISITE TON AVENIR!" “ will make its big comeback in the fall of 2024, when we will offer new tour itineraries that will once again stimulate and delight students eager to discover the nature of a few companies,” says Elise Voyer, who is already eager to support the next generation through this “concrete and impactful” initiative.

Another initiative underway to propel students into digital creation

In parallel with the “VISITE TON AVENIR!” project, SYNTHÈSE is also presenting “ARRISTAGE,” an internship competition for digital creation students seeking professional immersion to develop their artistic, technical, and behavioral skills. Applications for summer internships are still being accepted until June 15, 2024. A $2,500 scholarship from the Caisse de la Culture Desjardins will also be awarded to a future intern.
